Itinerary

After reaching the airport, our representative will welcome you before commencing the 10-minute journey to the property. Once you've checked in and taken some time to get comfortable in your new environment, you may consider exploring nearby attractions if there is enough time, such as the Oldest temple, Kichu Lhakhang, 7th century temple built by Tibetan King and Dungtse temple, the little three storied shorten shaped temple, was built in 1421 by Thangtong Gyelpo.
Your overnight stay will be at COMO Uma Paro in Valley View Room.

After breakfast hike through pine forests high above COMO Uma Paro to the pretty grounds of the fortresslike monastery of Zurig Dzong. Today you can visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum, and Rinpung Dzong (Fortress on a Heap of Jewels). Cross Paro Chhu river via the traditional covered bridge Nyamai Zam and visit Ugyen Pelri Palace, and into Paro town. Later drive further up the valley and visit Drukgyel Dzong, built-in 1648 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to control the northern route to Tibet. Today you may enjoy any of inspiring wellness massage therapies (Cost excluded). Experts are trained in a variety of Asian techniques ranging from the relaxing to the invigorating.

After breakfast fly to Punakha across the scenic Laya village (3,800m). The Layaps people call their home ‘Beyul’, which is a Buddhist word for a hidden paradise. On a flight, you can expect a view of the mountains of Gangchen Tag (6,784m), Tshendag Gang (6,994m), and Khang Bum (6,494m), and also catch a glimpse of Masa Gang (7,194m). You can also visit a Laya temple and try yak riding before a picnic. Your vehicle will be waiting at Zomlingthang Punakha to transfer you by road to the sister lodge, COMO Uma Punakha, which is a 20-minute journey. Flying duration: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes Overnight: COMO Uma Punakha. (Additional cost. Approx. USD 5833). Alternative one can drive to Punakha to avoid flight expense. A full day of exploration through the lush Punakha Valley, which at 1,200m is low enough for bananas and oranges to grow. The morning starts with a short walk across farmhouses and rice paddies to reach Chimmi Lhakhang, a 15th-century fertility temple. Later visit the 300-year-old Punakha Dzong comes into view. After lunch, the tour takes you on a walk through homesteads and farmland to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a shrine recently built by the royal family. Overnight in Uma in Valley View Room

After breakfast drive to Dochula pass (3,048m), we stop to take a look at the panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas, including Bhutan's highest mountain, Gangkar Punsum, 24,770ft/7,550m. (weather permitting!). We will explore few sites before heading to Paro such as Memorial Chorten-built for world peace, Takin sanctuary-National animal of Bhutan, Zilukha nunnery, traditional Art School, Indigenous hospital, Changangkha Lhakhang-built in 13 century, and other sights and attractions as per available time. Walk The historical Paro Valley is the focus of today’s activities, culminating in a visit to the Taktsang ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most important pieces of architecture. According to legend, this cliffside is where Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) landed on the back of a flying tigress, bringing Buddhism to Bhutan from Tibet. Today you can enjoy the steam rooms, gym, and swimming pool or indulging in one of their signature COMO Shambhala treatments (Additional Cost). Overnight in Uma in Valley View Room.
