Itinerary

After reaching Paro, you will be transferred to Thimphu, which takes around 1hr from the airport. This afternoon visit attraction of Thimphu according to your interests and available time. This may include a visit to Tashicho Dzong, which is the main Govt. center with the kings’ throne room. Overnight in Hotel

After breakfast drive to Kuenselphodrang and visit the Buddha Dordenma statue. Later hike from Kuensel Phodrang park to Changangkha Temple viewing 180 degrees Thimphu town view. Later visit the Memorial Chorten, spend time meeting and walking with local pilgrims who visit this special place daily. Drive to north of Thimphu and visit Astrology institute at Pangri Zampa for Astrological Reading. Return town and a visit to weekend Market to buy prayer flags prescribe by the astrologer to host at Dochula Pass the next day. Overnight in Hotel

After having breakfast, embark on a journey to Gangtey via Dochula pass (3,100m). Prior to descending into the Punakha valley, take a moment to witness the enchanting sight of the eastern horizon adorned and hug prayer flags that you acquired the previous evening. Carry on with your drive, crossing Punakha and Wangdue, until you reach Gangtey. Once you arrive, consider visiting Gangtey Monastery before making your way to the campsite. Enjoy camping valley.

Today if you are interested to ride on a horse you can do the nature trail on horseback or if not hike. Meet researchers at the Crane Centre, where they perform invaluable work in ensuring the protection of their roosting areas, educating the locals and tourists of the importance of the cranes to the valley, and providing care and shelter for an injured Black-necked Crane called “Karma”. Evening visits local farmhouse and drive or walk to your Camp.

Drive to Punakha for 2 hours. The drive from Gangtey to Punakha offers beautiful scenery and sightseeing opportunities along the way. En route meet Rinzin the incense maker at Katho Yosel Samtenling Monastery Incense Factory, forage in the local hills for ingredients for the incense, and see the incense making process. Later make a detour to visit the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. It's a short hike from the main road and is renowned for its fertility blessings. Overnight in Hotel

In the morning, embark on a brief excursion to the magnificent Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch before proceeding to visit Punakha Dzong, which is strategically located at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu Rivers. As an optional activity, you have the opportunity to engage in thrilling river rafting on either the Pho Chu or Mo Chu rivers, based on your interest (additional cost of $150 per board applies). Overnight in Deluxe Camp in Zomling Ground.

After breakfast drive to Thimphu, make a stop by the botanical park and nearby surrounding to explore diverse flora. Lunch could be planned on the way. Descending drive to Thimphu and continue short drive to Paro. The popular attractions within Paro include visiting Rinphung Dzong, National Museum if time permits. Overnight in Hotel

After breakfast visit some sites including Kichu Temple and Dungtse temple. Here you can buy things for nuns if you wish to present the next day. Afternoon drive to Chelela pass, highest motorable road and make long version hike over Sky burial. A descent around 20 minutes to your campsite. Overnight in camp

Morning hike down the hill to Kila nuns temple and visit. If you brought something to nuns you can present and drive to Paro for an Archery lesson at a private homestay. Today you can choose to have local dinner with a hot stone bath or dine in the hotel. Later drive back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Drive to the trailhead and hike to the famous Taktsang (tiger’s nest) monastery (3120m/10,200ft). Visible from afar, this magical monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff 1,000 feet above the valley floor. It is one of the most amazing and important pieces of architecture in Bhutan. If for some reason, you are not able to hike, your Guide can arrange other interesting alternatives. You can also hire a pony for the uphill part, till the first viewpoint & cafeteria but you must be able to walk back downhill. While some will probably not make it all the way to the monastery, however, it is worth even to try getting to the first viewpoint. Return to Paro, where we may have more time to stroll around the town

Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Paro airport in time for your departure flight.
